Same here. HMD knows they have some target market to cater but I’m still skeptical on the execution part. Nothing is a good example on stock Android done right but their firmware part imo is still isn’t polished up yet. Played around with Nothing Phone 1 but sometimes it takes too much time to reassign to functional cell network.

If HMD put bootloader unlock, that would already garner tons of interest. Right now partner apps are installed as stub and non-system which means users are free to get rid of it completely if they don’t like it. Even GApps stubs that I found when setting up X20 is very small, ranging in just kB. As for additional features, like it or not HMD has to do it themselves rather than relying on Google. Nothing’s pop up view is pretty nice and it’s great to be able to watch Netflix and Youtube in PiP (the latter bypasses the YT Premium requirement 😉)

Will we see Nokia taking over the brand in the same style that Google does with its devices, or will we see another manufacturer licensing the Nokia brand, since HMD apparently will no longer have the license. There is still a lot of information missing on this subject.

But I can still offer one good news that some Nokia employees are working on a model of 1 fan device like the Nokia N1 made through an OEM but designed and developed by Nokia to test the water. BUt it’s an internal skunkworks.
